Tuesdays are normally busy, hectic and pree packed,

but today was extraordinarily fun.

Happy 52nd Independance Day Malaysia.

Today, the 31 August 2009 marks the day we got our
Independance, 52 years ago, this day, would always
seem like a memorable yet remarkable occasion.
Yes, as always, it would be a public holiday,
and the television will always broadcast a series
of special programmes to entertain us.

Malaysia, a multi racial and ethnic minorities country,
signifies what we call Harmony, Peace and Democracy.
As beautiful as it seems, this is not what we all see.
Drowned by multiple political issues,
ethnic minorities rights' problems,
and multi racial conflicts.
Everything going on in the Parliament,
the very controversial meetings and
everything we see now seems to have
rendered the One Malaysia theme void.

However, this does not seem to be the issue
here at the moment.
As bad as the problems stated above
seem, this ought to have been
diluted by something.
Something that has became so serious,
it affects not only Malaysia, but the whole
world. Yes, this is a worldwide issue.
Ahem, i rephrase, not issue,
but disease. Whatever you call it.

Indeed. H1N1.
It has evolved now to H3N2, if im not mistaken.
This deadly disease has shocked the whole world,
it spreaded so quickly that we all thought
the 26.12.2004 Tsunami came again.
This situation has not gone better,
in fact it has gone worse.

As much as we love celebrating the national day,
as it would be ,
it has nt been the situation this year.
All celebrations have been postponed or not
cancelled, to give way to this disease.

Who is going to stop this from ongoing?

How many lives more will be taken?

I know im not here to judge the gravity
of this disease, and of course not to judge
anything else.

On top of this luxurious occasion,
I would like to dedicate my moment
of silence to those who lost their lives
in this deadly disease.

Happy Birthday Malaysia.
My condolenses for the family
members who lost lives of their loved
ones in this disease.
May they Rest In Peace.
